| A Montessori
Children's House which fosters independence,
respect, concentration and
creativity. For each child to reach their
fullest potential.....
Titoki Montessori
School was established in 1989 as an Incorporated
Society, and is administered by a dedicated
committee of parents whose children attend the
school. The underpinning of the school’s philosophy
resides with the Montessori qualifications of the
staff and the strong support of the parent and local
community.
The building itself
has a notable history on the North Shore as it was
originally the Browns Bay Catholic Church situated
in Browns Bay. However, in 1989 a group of
Montessori enthused parents applied to the North
Shore Council for the use of the building when it
was moved to the current site in Stredwick Drive,
Torbay.
Today Titoki
Montessori School, sited beside the lush Awaruku
wetland reserve, houses a flourishing Montessori
community of 2.5 to 6 year olds. The school is
fortunate to have the full compliment of Montessori
materials for children in their first plane of
development.
Titoki Montessori
offers an authentic Montessori 3 year programme.
Children commence between 2.5 and 3 and stay for a
full 3 years in accordance with the Montessori
philosophy.
“The education
of even a very small child does not aim at educating
him for school but for life”
Maria Montessori
